Today I was accosted by a pair of dim phantoms
Claiming they’re lost and can’t find their way
I brought them inside and off to the kitchen
Phantoms most particular when sipping ghost teas
But quickly their shadows stretched for the walls
Grabbed all the colors and fled through the garden
Blighting my favorite ponytail palm
Terribly rude, but what can I say
It’s all on camera but the police will do nothing
And the absence of color feels refreshingly calm
Perhaps it’s my vacant mood
Life feels so black and white these days
