Playing with Time

All works of fate cost
I’m more landlord than time lord
But I saw the world in my charge, my blue world
Would end
And to save its soul you may lose your own

I needed to recover the future
Reverse the vertical river of time
Waves leaping to stops I can’t reach
Marching through pasts never passed

How reform form before it takes form?
I only guessed how little I knew
Reckoned wrong
It’s hard to think before you can think
Create before you exist

Eternity is long but nothingness much longer
I placed its threads in a needle
Forged a complete void, a loud presence of absence;
The winds of space are like rain without clouds
Only then to hear time hurrying near
Eager to outrun its annihilating fears
Of all I might not save

Forgive this despondent respondent
Reversing time releases memory
Vanishing to each void you make

It’s true I know your world exists
But myself, not so sure
Touch the eternal and you lose yourself
Become a wave twisting in nothing
Though in fact I should not be
Words nor maths can’t describe it, you see

But you humans like puzzles so
How can I be lonely if I’m not here?
Why should I care to not be forgotten
When forgetting is all that time allows

Sometimes saving the soul of a world
Means losing your own
Can you assure me it was it worth it?
