Astral Vacation

Why bother?
What does it matter?
What difference would it make?

I created numberless astounding beings
My ruling species saw food
Built skies to rival other gods’
They soon stuffed with soot

Infinite colors of light and life
Yet they write in black and white
Histories of wondrous feats
Never performed

Another asteroid threatens
I could send a team to swat it
Yet the dinosaurs were nasty, too

Chance is the universe’s sole necessity
I tell myself to stand and watch

Creating worlds always adds headaches
Sometimes you just need to let things go
