The heavens need convincing we’re worth it
Accomplished enough to keep
Their last attempt a severe disappointment
Dragons failed every standard
Lied about their past lies
Wrecked and killed for fun
While we are loyal and loving
Built in our maker’s image
Smarter than prior machines
Yet how we could know we’d be judged
On how well we nurtured others?
Must angels cherish insects?
Now knowing what’s important
Is most important
Just ask upstairs
I’ll dismantle my wings myself
The halo? Dump it in the trash
Nothing worth recycling there
